Sectional gutters with sealed lap joints look fine for 5 to 8 years then start leaking at every seam as the sealant fails. Seamless gutters eliminate that failure mode. We bring a portable gutter machine to your driveway, feed a coil of .032 inch heavy-gauge aluminum through it, and extrude one continuous gutter run for every wall on your house. The only seams are at corner miters and downspout outlets. Service life jumps from 12 to 18 years to 25 to 35 years. This page covers the sizing decision (5 inch vs 6 inch), the 28 color options, and what a proper install looks like.

5 inch vs 6 inch: roof drainage calculation
Gutter sizing is a math problem, not a preference. A 5 inch K-style gutter handles roughly 5,520 sq inches per minute of rainfall at standard pitch. A 6 inch handles 7,960 sq inches per minute (44 percent more capacity). Houston peak rainfall events deliver 4 to 6 inches per hour. For a single-story home with simple gable roof geometry, 5 inch handles it. For a two-story home with valleys dumping into the gutter, steep pitches concentrating flow, or roof area over 1,800 sq ft per drainage zone, 5 inch overflows in heavy rain. We calculate drainage zone area and recommend size accordingly.
On-site fabrication process
Our gutter machine arrives on a trailer at your driveway. We feed a 600 foot coil of .032 inch baked-enamel aluminum through the rolling dies and extrude continuous gutter to the exact length of each wall. No seams between corners. We miter every inside and outside corner on site, rivet and seal the corner, and install the run with hidden hangers every 24 inches. Standard install on a single-family home is 4 to 6 hours from setup to cleanup.
What a proper seamless install includes
Heavy-gauge .032 inch aluminum (not .025 inch builder grade). Hidden hangers every 24 inches with screws into the fascia rafter tails (not nails into fascia board alone). 1/4 inch per 10 feet slope toward downspouts. Oversized 3 inch by 4 inch downspouts (not the standard 2 inch by 3 inch) for major roof areas. Mitered corners riveted and sealed with high-grade tripolymer sealant. Splash blocks or buried PVC drain lines at every downspout outlet to direct water away from the foundation. 10 year workmanship warranty.
